Destinies try to hide me, whispering and conversing, failures try to confide in me, but I'm only observing, opportunities that tried to deny me, entangled and disconcerting, the dreams evaporate inside me, leaving me hopelessly searching

When The Devil Is Desperate, a short story by T.F. Burke

It was a gloomy day when the Sisters Of Light convened for their ritual. They had finally found the spell to kill Satan. The sisters, also known as the "OCULUS", had journeyed 2500 miles from their convent to Mount Ararat to assemble the spell and kill Lucifer once and for all. A prophecy which was foretold centuries ago. Satan was furious that anyone would dare try this spell. He appeared at the altar the OCULUS had made. His eyes glowed red with fury. All of a sudden they started glowing bright purple. His bones started to crack,then a purple explosion blew him a half a mile away. as Satan lay there, broken and bleeding, he did the one thing he never wanted to do. He summoned G.U.S. A shadowy figure starts walking up, as if from nowhere, the sound of his legendary guitar dragging behind him. The OCULUS kept chanting. hurriedly trying to finish the ritual.
